Posted by admin 30 April, 2009

I sign up for IPower Web Hosting about 2 month ago, my purpose is to hosted my personel blog over there, since my local web hosting is expired soon.

ipower

Also, would like to experience on foreign server (US server) since some of my visitor from other country do leave me a message about my website loading speed are slow which hosted at Malaysia server.

I heard some forum member introduce me about IPower, and I tries them up without do much survey, unfortunately, I not really satisfy with their service. Consider a bad experience with them. Respond time are slow, and unable to solve my problem.

Story start from I migrate my db to IPower’s server after I sign up, once I fully setup a wordpress over the server, move my template file and plugin there, and upload the database. I found that the temporally URL eg.http://usename.ipower.com does not shows my website properly,  it show the blog post that few month back, and not the latest one.

I try to contact the support, but their respond are very slow, take few days to reply me, and when they reply, the information provide are not accurate. No choice, I asking the question again, and the reply ask me back what happen :( due to different technical support personel follow up the case.

After 10 to 20 time email them, at the end, they said I require to paid about $70 for database migrate service. At the end, I does not hosted my personnel blog there, due to my local server has been expired, and have to host my blog some where else urgently without wait for Ipower.

I have move my blog to a Private Hoster Network, Malaysia budget web hosting, and the server is working well.

After every thing settle, I do check some respond from web hosting forum member, and found some member actually comment very bad at Ipower, but still some said their service no problem.

At the end, I do ask for refund, but the refund are not 100%, not as they mention at their website. With some term and condition, they charge me some setup fees, and the refund about 20% from the amount I paid. So there are nothing worth for me to get refund, I decide  to create a new domain name (since they offer a free domain) and try to blog for fun.

Server speed is acceptable, so far the downtime until now is still zero. I am satisfy with this, but the previous problem that they unable to solve for me already take away my confident on them.

If you looking to use Ipower IPower Web Hosting,  you can just try to check out their respond time before you purchase. They do have live chat technical support and sales.
